Philibert Louis DEBUCOURT (Paris 1755 - Belleville 1832) "Course du Grand Prix faite au Champs de Mars, à Paris" (par les cheveaux qui ont remportés les Premiers Prix dans leurs Départements) Original etching and aquatint from a subject by Carle Vernet (Bordeaux 1758 - Paris 1836), printed and published by the publisher Rolland in Paris around 1814. Nice copy in the third state of four, with the words "Déposé à la Direction Générale des Estampes" at the bottom in the center and before change of title, printed with a refined color inking on unrefined paper, complete with the imprint of the sheet and with small margins, applied on a sheet of modern frame paper after a successful restoration of the long tears in the part high of the composition in various parts of the sky, with a few small foxing points and other minimal defects but overall, given the large size and the high degree of ra rity, in excellent condition. Inserted in a late nineteenth-century frame carefully put in order. In a 1921 repertoire, public sales prices of up to 500 francs are recorded for this Debucourt subject.
